The Social and Community Life Committee is responsible for promoting the spirit of community in the parish by providing consistent planned efforts to strengthen relationships among all segments and individuals within the parish and foster a truly hospitable atmosphere. The committee is particularly concerned about reaching out to new and inactive members, to involve them in parish activities.
Reception Committee: Volunteers provide light refreshments, food and drinks, in conjunction with various parish events, including special liturgical celebrations, e.g., after Midnight Mass and the Easter vigil, First Communion, Confirmation, weddings, etc. (Excludes coffee and donuts after Mass on Sunday morning.) Funeral Reception Committee: Volunteers provide direct and tangible service and comfort at a crucial time for the bereaved family by planning, preparing and serving food at a reception in the Parish Hall after a funeral, usually during the day. Sunday Hospitality: As a way to strengthen the sense of community in the parish, volunteers provide coffee and doughnuts to parishioners after the 8:30 and 11:00 AM Masses on Sundays throughout the year Contact: Jay or Kathy Cummings, 550-3632 |
